First of the 737 MAX variants certified

The US Federal Aviation Administration has certified the 737 MAX 8 for commercial service after a year-long test programme involving four aircraft.

The first deliveries are expected in the coming months.

The 737 MAX 8 certification came two days after the first MAX 9 variant rolled-out.

Studies and discussions are underway with customers on further growing the family, Boeing said.
